VIROSAFE MOLD REMEDIATION
ViroSafe is a potent oxidant in eliminating mold wherever it is exposed and accessible. In consultation with a third party laboratory, we have developed a process using ViroSafe to identify, locate and eliminate household species of fungus. Most importantly, through this process, ViroSafe minimizes the expensive remediation in discovering hidden mold. Warning: Mold exposure can be hazardous to your health! Don’t waste time and money trying to tackle this problem alone, we can help!
Commonly Found Types of Mold
Alternaria is a genus of Deuteromycetes fungi. All species are known as major plant pathogens. They are also common allergens in humans.
Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by a yeast (a type of fungus) called Candida. Some species of Candida can cause infection in people; the most common is Candida albicans.
Nocardia is a genus of weakly staining Gram-positive, catalase-positive bacteria. It forms partially acid-fast beaded branching filaments. It contains a total of 85 species.
Aspergillus is a genus consisting of several hundred mould species found in various climates worldwide. Very common indoors & outdoors.
Cladosporium is a genus of fungi including some of the most common indoor and outdoor molds. Some species are endophytes or plant pathogens, while others parasitize fungi.
Penicillium is a genus of ascomycetous fungi and is of major importance in the natural environment, in food spoilage, and in food and drug production.
Generalized terminology for different types of airborne bacteria. Difficult to identify in an airborne lab test, therefore labeled for a catch-all.
Fusarium is a large genus of filamentous fungi widely distributed in soil. Most species are harmless saprobes, and are relatively abundant members of the soil microbial community.
Pithomyces comprises numerous dematiaceous saprobic species commonly found on dead leaves and stems of a great variety of plants.
Bipolaris is a genus of fungi belonging to the family Pleosporaceae. High concentrations can result in asthma, sinusitis and dermatitis.
Microsporum canis is a zoophilic dermatophyte and is a frequent cause of ringworm in humans, especially children. Invades hair & skin. Cats & dogs are main sources of infection.
Rhizopus is a cosmopolitan filamentous fungus found in soil, decaying fruit and vegetables, animal feces, and old bread.
*We took samples from multiple different rooms of the house, these results
are a combination of all to show the levels throughout the home*
A young family's small infant with an underdeveloped immune system, developed severe skin rashes over the entire body. After several visits to doctors and specialists, the child was found to have an allergy to penicillin, among a host of other allergies. When the question “Does your home have mold?” was asked, the home was tested and eleven different molds were identified, including Pennicillium, TNTC (To Numerous To Count).
A target level of ozone was produced and circulated through the central air system for 2 hours. (See treatment chart) The treatment was designed to reduce and/or eliminate mold spore colonies in the house. Sampling plate dishes were again placed throughout the house in the same areas as the Initial Discovery. Lab results indicated a continued high presence of Candidia, although significantly reduced, while other mold species were reduced to a normal range or eliminated. Of major concern was Pennicillium, which was eliminated.
Mold must have a food source and moisture to survive. It likes concealed areas of low light and moderate temperature to thrive. Concealment presents an obstacle to eliminating mold for any treatment method, so follow-up lab tests is an important validation step. ViroSafe helped level the colony counts in the entire house to provide a base line for analysis. Not surprising, various mold species reappeared, but left leading indicators of its origin location(s).
Since the Follow-Up lab tests indicated TNTC levels of three different molds (Nocardia sp, Cladosporium, Pennicillium) in different locations of the house, through consultation, it was determined the only possible origin location where all elements for mold growth could be present was the A-Coil. After inspection, mold was visibly present, which was subsequently eliminated. These are the results after treatment and new samples were taken.
ViroSafe is a useful tool in locating and eliminating mold fungus. Before you completely remediate or permanently move out of your home or business, ViroSafe may be able to offer you a more cost effective alternative.
